Xfinity cable box not turning on

I have a problem with what’s referred to the “hand-shake” on a Vizio Tv connecting to mini box on HDMI connection. It generally happens when I first power up both the box and the tv. What works for me is power only the tv off for a few seconds and turn it back on again. (Cable box should stay on) I use my tv specific remote. Hope that helps.
